10 世紀 蘇格蘭和英格蘭各自是獨立的國家

1922 年 愛爾蘭共和國獨立,愛爾蘭北部仍留在聯合王國內
1937 年 12/29 愛爾蘭採用了新的愛爾蘭憲法(Bunreacht na hÉireann)
將國名正式定為 Éire 設立愛爾蘭總統(Uachtaráin na hÉireann)
1949 年 4/1 通過的愛爾蘭共和國法案最終廢除君主制,將國王職權全部交予總統

【劇情簡介】
敘述1920年代愛爾蘭獨立戰爭的故事
以一對兄弟為主軸,原本同心對抗英國
游擊戰抗英多年,愛爾蘭共和軍始終遵循"1913年復活節宣言"(內容即描寫他們要完全脫離英國)
在協定和平後英國表示將撤出所有英軍,愛爾蘭獨立,但仍須效忠英王
哥哥這邊希望有和平安定的生活,完全獨立以後再做打算,於是簽下條約,成為愛爾蘭正規軍隊
弟弟這邊則是希望能遵守"復活節宣言"要徹底爭取民主獨立到底,就變成了反政府的游擊隊

【觀後感】
Fight for independent.
民主的真諦是什麼?激進派和保守派的抗衡?
都是人類,殖民國英人和以如此殘暴地對待愛爾蘭人?
同為愛爾蘭人,為何還要展開殘酷的全面內戰?
是人類殘暴的天性!
是人類擁有不同理念!
是人類不懂接納不同意見!
原本一同對抗外侮的英雄,成為忘恩負義的走狗,他們一定是錯的嗎?
激進地希望爭取完全獨立,這樣做值得嗎?
時間有沒有可能慢慢衝開心結?
時間有沒有可能讓獨立不流一滴血?
我印象最深的片段之一,是戰亂對人民的傷害
有個小孩病得很虛弱
外婆問醫生他要不要緊?
醫生說他一定會康復的!
同行的朋友問醫生孩子生什麼病?
『他餓壞了』
激進地希望爭取完全獨立,這樣做值得嗎?
時間有沒有可能慢慢衝開心結?
時間有沒有可能讓獨立不流一滴血?
『I try not to get in this war,and did;Now I try to get off,and can't』
然而這又是怎麼樣的一個心情?
畢生致力於民主獨立的爭取,換來的卻是親生哥哥命令行刑的聲音?
電影的結尾,我哭了
